O’Flynn Exhams was delighted to be invited to visit Museum of the Moon on the first day of its installation in Nexus Hall in CIT.
Open for free public viewing, the giant moon is in-situ as part of Cork Midsummer Festival until Friday June 22 (9am-8.30pm). The internationally toured work by artist Luke Jerram measures seven metres in diameter, and features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. People of all ages are invited to bathe beneath the moonlight and experience an atmospheric soundtrack created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer, Dan Jones.
O’Flynn Exhams is a proud sponsor of the installation, which coincides with the International Space University’s 30th Annual Space Studies Programme (SSP17) hosted by CIT from June 26th – August 25th.
Speaking about the installation, Richard Neville, Managing Partner, said: “We are delighted to support Cork Midsummer Festival in bringing this fantastic installation to CIT. Museum of the Moon is a completely unique experience, and one that we are sure the people of Cork will thoroughly enjoy.”
